Scarlet Letter Essay Essays - Given Names, Women, Novels

Bryan Llashag Ms. Gilbarty ELA 3 January 9, 2019 Brutally Honest Kids Children 's play a major role in this novel, The Scarlet Letter. There are characters that are important to the story like the one and only Pearl. There are also kids in the story that are the definition of little devils. They encounter Hester and Pearl and make their lives harder. Pearl is a blessing and curse for Hester. Hester has sinned very awfully and the conclusion of that was Pearl. Her little curse that she has to carry for the rest of her life not only Pearl, but a big fat A in her bosom that she will not be able to take off, ever. In this amazing novel, The Scarlet Letter, it will show you how strong Hester and Pearl are together. Even if the kids are annoying and obnoxious there is a stronger girl that holds her ground better than any little girl. Which is Pearl, and her mom is tough one as well. She doesn't care what they have to say about her. She just accepts the fact she sinned and lives her life. Kids are always going to be more honest than adults. It's a known fact. Kids are super innocent and they will never lie because some kids don't even know what lying is. Asking a kid who did what is the easiest answer to get out of a question because they will tell you right away. In the book, kids' don't think twice on saying what they are about to say. Does not Doesn't matter how cruel or hurtful it can mean to someone, they don't care. So in chapter 7, Pearl and Hester are on their way to the governor's hall and before they can get there, some kids appear ready to do stuff. The kids exclaim , "Behold, verily, there is the woman of the scarlet letter: and of a truth, moreover, there is the likeness of the scarlet letter running along by her side! Come, therefore, and let us fling mud at them!" (Hawthorne 96). The narrator states , " But Pearl, who was a dauntless child, after frowning, stamping her foot, and shaking her little hand with a variety of thre atening gestures, suddenly made a rush at the knot of her enemies, and put them all to flight" . Pearl is not the nicest child in the world, she has some anger issues. Pearl could not be controlled by anyone, nor did she easily establish relationships with others. This is how she would deal with the kids. " If the children gathered about her, as they sometimes did, Pearl would grow positively terrible in her puny wrath, snatching up stones to fling at them, with shrill, incoherent exclamations, that made her mother tremble, because they had so much the sound of a witch's anathemas in some unknown tongue" (Hawthorne 89) . She was never one to get bullied, she would stand up for herself and occasionally for her mother. The reason why she was like this though, was because the kids were real jerks about her mom and her scarlet letter. Even though she did not didn't know what it meant yet, she still was not wasn't gonna get punked by no kid. Kids will be kids. They overheard the adults talking about hester, so they tell each other and make it a huge rumor which thens gets spread from adults to children. So basically the whole puritan community knows about the huge sin Hester committed. Children differ from adults in their potential for expressing different perceptions by simply not maturing yet. Children are not subjected to the harsh realities of life. also they are too innocent and their intelligence is under construction. As a result they can't think much of their own needs and cant be greedy. Kids have not haven't been thought a nice lie where if u feel something disrespectful approaching you politely ignore it. Kids will straight up tell you what's happening with no worries at all. Because adults learned manners and kids are still learning how to clean their own butts so we can't blame the innocence of a child. In the book,
